Olicía is the band project of the two multi-instrumentalists Fama M'Boup and Anna-Lucia Rupp who currently live in Berlin and Leipzig. The music of Olicía moves in the field of tension between the human voice, acoustic instruments, free improvisation and the use of modern electronic possibilities. At some point, they gave it the genre name “electronic handmade loopjazz”. Fragmented, electro soul, playful, multilingual global pop, fragile folk moments and an approach to improvisation borrowed from jazz within a fixed structure. They unite all these disparate elements in astonishingly concise, direct and emotional pop songs. Everything that can be heard on stage is created in the moment, nothing is pre-produced.
Their song Texture of Words was featured in Robert Gwisdek's (aka Käptn Peng’s) film Der Junge, dem die Welt gehört, which premiered in 2024.
Olicía are
Fama M’Boup (vocals, loops, effects, percussion, keys)
Anna-Lucia Rupp (vocals, loops, effects, synths, guitars)
